At MVHS we believe education plays a key role in achieving our mission.

Playful Paws Summer Camp

  • Session A: 1st & 2nd Grade - June 17 & 19, 10am-4pm
  • Session B: 3rd & 4th Grade - June 24 & 26, 10am-4pm FULL
  • Session C: 5th & 6th Grade - July 8 & 10, 10am-4pm FULL
  • Session D: 5th, 6th, & 7th Grade - July 24 (one day only), 10am-4pm

    Kids entering Grades 1-7 will participate in a variety of activities including Animal Yoga, Craft Projects, and a Behind the Scenes Tour! Kids will also meet some of MVHS’ Animal Ambassadors, and learn about a variety of animal-related topics from MVHS' Humane Educator, Veterinary Technician, and Volunteers.

    Cost for this year's 2-day camp is $75 and 1-day camp is $40, which includes a snack and lunch. Please call or email our Humane Educator for more information or to register.

    Kids are Reading to Dogs!

    MVHS has started a new Animal Book Club!

    Kids in grades 1-5 will meet at the Burnhaven Library in Burnsville from 6:30-7:30pm the 1st Monday of every month November-May.

    Book Club Kids will check out an assigned book each month to discuss at the following club meeting. Kids will also read to one of our Ambassador Dogs during each club meeting.

    A $30 Book Club Fee directly benefits MVHS' Humane Education Program. Please Call or Email Our Humane Educator to Register!

    Animal Career Exploring

    A new program for older kids!

    The Northern Star Council and MVHS have teamed up to offer kids ages 14-21 an opportunity to explore animal-related careers.

    Kids will meet with MVHS' Humane Educator on the 2nd Monday of every month during the '07-08 school year from 5:30-6:30.

    Pre-Registration is required; there is a $10 registration fee.
